Prayers for healing that begin before one fully considers God's reasons for healing often miss the mark and create false expectations. And those invariably lead to frustration and disillusionment.
Jesus's brother, James, tells us that when we ask and don't receive it is "because you ask with wrong motives: that you may spend what you get on your own pleasures" (James 4:3)

While taking a break from blogging to focus on speaking my patients and audiences have helped me refine their message of what it takes to live victorious lives in the face of cancer. TO BE HAPPY is a frequent item on the "Most Important List". Amazingly there is some solid data on that in a TED talk by Robert Waldinger entitled Happiness. He first reports a survey of millennials asked to list their major goals in life. 70% said it was to get rich. 50% included to become famous.

UNCERTAINTY is the theme music of the Dragon. Every chorus is laced with it. Indeed uncertainty seems to be the principal source of suffering in our world. Think about it.

Here are two ideas for generating Hope. Try them because there is nothing worse than being Hopeless.
1) TAKE CONTROL of your circumstances.Take your eyes off of what you cannot control and focus on what you can. Sure you must fight the disease but if you give it all your attention it will control you - and your life. It will win, you will loose!
