Is anyone of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (James 5:14 – 16)
- Have others join their faith to yours in bringing your infirmity to Jesus. Don't go it alone. Surround yourself with praying friends. Ask the elders to anoint you with oil and pray for your healing and recruiting Jesus to gird you from any demonic attack and to break any personal bondage and any curse for sins of previous generations and your family.
- By faith be touched by Jesus – draw close to him in corporate worship, praise, song and prayer. When you draw close to him, he can reach out and touch you. The Dragon and Jesus are polar opposites. The closer you walk to Jesus the further you are from the Dragon. It will still be there but its voice will diminish to the point of irrelevancy.
- Submit yourself to the authority and will of Christ, trusting him for your healing in his way and in his time. The Centurion's belief in Christ's authority made it possible for his servant to be healed from afar (Matthew 8:8). Mary and Martha believed in Jesus' is authority when they sent him word of their brother, Lazarus' Illness. But constrained by their human agenda inside time and space with no concept of Christ's authority beyond it they experienced untold grief for days waiting for Jesus to arrive. Their experience teaches us we need more than an understanding of his authority we need to surrender to both His ways and His timing.
There is more, but this is enough to think about for now.
